I am excited to report a surge in the number of responses to the survey of project managers that we started a few weeks ago. As of today over 40 of you have taken the survey. Thank you.
I started looking at this first group of responses to see what conclusions, if any, can be drawn. Here are a couple of quick graphs showing the relative PM experience of the respondents as well as whether they believe emotional intelligence has helped them in their career. It is exciting to see how many project managers believe that emotional intelligence has helped them in the careers; 22 out of 29 project managers agreed that it had helped them. And of course we all know that 7 out of 8 dentist prefer Dentyne for patients who chew gum. So we have to be cautious about making too much out of this just yet.
It is pretty early in the work and I have just scratched the surface - look for more data in the next few weeks. I am hoping to get 100 responses by the end of November.
If you are a project manager, I would like to invite you to take this short survey. The respondent identities are not tracked and it only takes a moment. Here is the link again: Take the Survey
